As always this a great article from the pioneering and inspiring film producer Ted Hope.

We particularly like his observation that film is a truely unique medium for creating empathy and shared experience and there is still much un-chartered opportunity to make stories and films that can be life transforming.  Films themselves can do more to exploit the virtual reality that is experienced when fully immersed in viewing – to transport the viewer and to help them to see through other peoples eyes and empathise and learn.

The paradoxical experience of being individually immersed in story whilst sharing ( in the event of watching with a crowd) is again, a fantastic and unique symbiosis that many cinemas would do well to exploit further.
